They normally have fruit or vegetable they are selling attached to the pole in front of the boat so everyone can see. There were barges full of pumpkins, watermelons, squashes was hoping there will be more there for the tourists able to buy from sellers. We saw only couple of floating cafes where you could climb on board and have nearest village where we got off was very dirty to be honest. They throw everything into the water. The guide said that government now provides bins etc but it’s just easier to throw garbage out of your window. It was also pineapple season so there were also a lot of pineapple. We saw the bus wasn’t that bad so we jumped in. It had AC, narrow seats though but comfortable so if you’re a big person this is an issue, and we depart on it’s not shown once you get your booking reservation in English is that you have to pay an extra 20k VND for each checked luggage over 10kg. It is shown only in the Vietnamese booking reservation... the lady in the office told me to pay 40k VND for our 2 suitcases and I thought it was a scam lol so I screenshot the Vietnamese booking confirmation and sent it to our Vietnamese tour guide. He confirmed this so we paid this went from Saigon to Cai Be. As a Peruvian, I am used to these kinda buses that ride like if they’re racing in F1. As someone living in France, I believe it’ll shock some Europeans... but we arrived safely lol. We all loved every minute of it. The rooms are large and well appointed. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Marianne the cruise manager, who ensured everything ran smoothly. The meals were excellent and each day they were varied with an excellent range of choices. There were daily tour options to see a variety of local sights and meet the people. A special mention about the tour guide we had in Cambodia, Som, who was the best tour guide I have ever been with. He was a champion person as well!
