The first was a boat ride that took us to two floating markets, small canals, and a noodle factory. It was absolutely amazing! The boat man was very friendly and brought us safely to every place. We bought some Pho and fruits at the floating market, tried some dragon fruit and made our own noodles! I would say it is definitely a must-do when being in Can Tho. He really cared for us he gave us hats when the sun began shining, he closed the roof of the boat once it got too hot, he gave us pineaple,... and he was always smiling. The tour included arranging the hire of a motor bike and helmets and a bike/driver for one of our children the other rode with Trung. A great way to explore the delta area travelling on lots of back roads. On our tour we saw a great deal including Kei Quyt Forest, travelled on a canoe past old VC bunkers and went to Sa Dec to see the colourful flower markets. Many eating stops a long the way. Trung was very flexible with the itinerary taking us to where we had expressed interest and a great tour guide. Although not used to riding motor bikes, we always felt safe. One of the main reasons I wanted to go on this cruise was to photograph the morning market. The boat driver was kind and slowed down when I was taking a picture. Both our guide and driver were very nice the end of the trip the ride back to Can Tho was very relaxing I enjoyed sitting in peace and watching life around us. We are in our 70’s and we joined two young ladies from Germany who had also booked with Susan. The tour from start to finish was amazing with Susan modifying some things because of our age and yet the young ladies still got to do what they booked. The accommodation is delightful and extremely comfortable with air conditioning, private en suite, wifi and any other things required to make you comfortable. The first day was a bike ride to visit dozens of attractions near Susan’s home. Incense making factory, duck farm, agriculture, Khmer Buddhist Temple, and finally the food markets to buy food to cook that evening by Susan and us. Delicious meal. Up and ready at am to visit the floating markets and eat breakfast there! Amazing food and experience. Then about 2 hours being shown around the Mekong Delta tributaries, stopping occasionally to see more interesting sites like the cacao farm, the dragonfruit farm and much more. Susan, her parents and daughter Kem were extremely welcoming and hospitable. One of the best tours we have ever done during our many years of travel. It takes 2 hours to reach the delta and 2 hours to come back. The tour consisted of a boat ride on the Mekong river then a lunch, a canoe ride, etc. A totally missable tour. No point spending so much time just to take a boat ride and lunch. SUGGEST NOT TO WASTE TIME ON THIS TOUR. She was fantastic!! We did the 2 day trip of Mekong Delta, including a night in Can Tho. It was a small group of 4 people, plus driver and guide. At first the guide annoyed me a lot with his constant babbling and joking - then again, the tour starts early and I am not a morning person. He calmed down as well. The cultural sights and sides of the trip are to be recommended our guide Huy told us a lot about life in Mekong Delta, about Buddhism, social behavior, language, food, history, the markets etc pp. I enjoyed that a lot!! The sales events are not that thrilling. But you can cope with it for the beauty of nature and in insight of Vietnamese life in this do the trip with the bicycle. It’s really worth it. Be aware it’s quite a lot of time in the car - but we had a super driver and felt safe all the time. Be aware sales events are included but it’s not really that pushy as many described it here. We didn’t buy anything and that was fine. Some parts were really interesting, thanks to stay at Can Tho was nice - foreigners are still a bit strange to some inhabitants, English is not that common and as everywhere in Vietnam foods and markets are fantastic!! We enjoyed this part of the trip a lot. The hotel 4 star choice is not really what you would expect according to European standards but ok for one night.
